The Emporia Recreation Commission has three meetings in one Monday evening.
Board members will have a hearing specifically on the commission’s revenue neutral rate at 5:30 pm. Taxing entities must let the state know if their upcoming budgets have more spending than the current year, even if mil levies remain flat or decline.
Following that discussion, the board will have its official budget hearing.
Once the budget hearing is over, the official monthly meeting begins. The board could approve a resolution to exceed the revenue neutral rate for both the general fund and employee benefit fund before approving the employee benefit fund and general fund budgets in separate votes.
All three meetings will be at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
