The Emporia State football team begins a new phase of training camp with classes starting Monday.
Mondays practice will be held in the evening as part of the first day of classes festivities. Students will be allowed on the field with several activities they can be a part of.
The practice begins at 7:30 pm.
While the defense is loaded with experienced players the offense is not. The offensive line returns only 2 players who have started.
Junior Tackle Xavier Cason is one of the returnees.
Junior Center Hayden Reed has started 23 games. He likes what he sees from the younger players.
Junior Miles Wade returns with playing experience. Having survived cancer and missing last season he is motivated for this season.
Junior Connor Lierz, a transfer from Hutchinson, is battling for one of the starting positions.
The Hornets have 10 practices left before they kick-off the season on September 4th at Northeastern State.
