The Emporia High cross country teams are off and running as they prepare for the season. Coach Michael Robinson has 41 runners out, 26 boys and 15 girls.
Sophomore Micah Sheffy-Harris is the lone state qualifier returning.
Jonathan Laudie, who just missed qualifying for state, is the top returning runner for the boys.
The Spartan Cross Country teams open their season on September 4th at Manhattan.
