Salvador Perez hit a grand slam in the 6th inning powering the Kansas City Royals to a 6-4 win over the Seattle Mariners Thursday night.
The Mariners scored 3 runs in the 5th inning to take a 4-0 lead.
Whit Merrifield doubled to drive in Ryan O’Hearn to give the Royals their first run in the top of the 6th inning.
Salvador Perezs 35th home run would give the Royals the lead for good.
Emmanuel Rivera would score on a Nicky Lopez single in the 7th for the Royals final run.
Ervin Santana earned the win and Scott Barlow his 5th save.
Brad Keller left the game in the 5th inning with shoulder discomfort.
Pitcher Josh Staumont was placed on the injured list Thursday by the Royals.
Scott Blewett was recalled from Omaha.
