The Emporia High Spartans struggled offensively in their season-opening 22-2 loss to Topeka Hayden Friday night.
Emporia High finished with 72 total offensive yards. The only Emporia High score was a safety in the 3rd quarter. Hayden led 12-0 at halftime. They would add a touchdown and a field goal in the 2nd half. The Spartans will play their home opener next Friday when they host Topeka West.
