USD 251 North Lyon County is adjusting its meeting schedule this week, if only because it’s scheduled three meetings for Wednesday evening.
The board will start with a revenue-neutral hearing at 6 pm to discuss plans to exceed the revenue-neutral rate for the upcoming budget. Taxing entities, including school boards, have to file paperwork with the state if their upcoming budgets will exceed spending for the current or prior year, regardless of whether the mil levy remains flat or declines.
The revenue-neutral hearing will be followed by the standard budget hearing at 6:30 pm and the regular board meeting at 7 pm. During the regular meeting, board members will get an update on COVID-19 stats and response measures. They will also discuss enrollment stats before holding two executive sessions, one involving student matters and one for non-elected personnel. Action could take place after the NEP executive session.
