All Veterans Tribute Activities officially begin this Saturday.
The 17th annual All Veterans Tribute Golf Tournament will take place at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course. The tournament traditionally serves as the official start to All Veterans Tribute activities in Emporia and all funds generated will go to support local veterans organizations and the Mexican American World War II memorial according to organizer Jesse Solis.
Solis says everyone is welcome to come out and take part in the tournament. He says not to wait too long to sign up, however, as spots are filling up quickly.
The tournament will be a four-person scramble as in years past with registration open until the day of the tournament. The day’s activities will begin at 7 am with registration followed by a shotgun start at 9 am. The cost of entry is $65 per person for each team and includes a cart, trail fees and lunch catered by Bobby D’s Merchant Street BBQ.
