For the second straight week, Coffey Health System did not have to transfer any COVID-19 patients to other hospitals for care.
Last week, Coffey Health System called an average of four hospitals to transfer a patient with an average radius of almost 110 miles per patient. It took an average of 1.5 hours to complete the process. Two weeks ago, the Burlington hospital reported an average of six calls per patient transfer, an average transfer time of 8.5 hours and average transfer radius of 90 miles.
Other COVID stats through the hospital saw increases from the prior week. There were 45 positive tests, up 14 from the previous week. The 30-percent positivity rate was up 18 percent. There were also 151 tests last week, up 32 from the previous week.
