A motions hearing is ahead for an Emporia man accused of killing another Emporian during a traffic crash in March.
Devawn Mitchell has a hearing at 1:30 pm Friday in Lyon County District Court. He’s tentatively set for trial Oct. 25.
Mitchell is accused of killing Steve Henry on March 18 as part of a traffic crash on West Sixth between Chestnut and Lawrence. Local law enforcement say they broke off a pursuit before the wreck because of unsafe speeds and other traffic conditions.
Mitchell is accused of first-degree felony murder, aggravated assault on law enforcement and felony flee and elude.
