Have you ever wanted to learn some new cooking techniques from a world-class chef? Well, now you can thanks to a special event coming to Emporia later this month and early next month.
Local business owners Lucas and Amy Moody have organized a one-of-a-kind culinary opportunity for the local opportunity, a special Supper Club dining experience on Oct. 1. The Moody’s are a well-traveled couple who enjoy taking part in any and every culinary opportunity they can and they are bringing that passion for food to Emporia’s Gufler Mansion.
Lucas Moody on KVOE’s Morning Show Wednesday says they have teamed up with world-class chef, food critic and cookbook author James Oseland for the event. Oseland is coming to Emporia as part of his current publicity tour for his newest book World Food: Mexico City.
The book is the second installment in Oseland’s cookbook series which Lucas Moody describes as a culinary encyclopedia series.
The Supper Club event will take place from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm Friday, Oct. 1 at the Guffler Mansion with enough room for 48 individuals to attend. The evening will include a live cooking demonstration from Chef Oseland, a cocktail hour and a multi-course meal.
The cost to attend is $75 per person and includes a copy of Oseland’s book. In addition to the Supper Club meal, Oseland will also be hosting a cooking class for 15 lucky individuals the night before on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 6 pm inside Flint Hills Technical College. The cost for the cooking class is $50 per person.
