History is set to come alive in Council Grove this weekend.
The city will be hosting two performances of the outdoor drama, “Voices of the Wind People” which tells the story of the Kaw Indians who lived in the area from 1850-1873. The story also revolves around the city of Council Grove and the Santa Fe Trail and how all three intersect amongst one another.
Organizer Sharon Haun says it is an important story for everyone to see.
Local residents will have two opportunities to see the performance both Friday and Saturday inside the Council Grove Amphitheater on the west side of the Neosho River just off Main Street. Tickets are available both online and at the gate the night of and cost $15 for adults and $5 for students.
The performance will start at 8 pm.
Ahead of the main performance, a wagon show and mountain men encampment will be on display from 9 am to 5:30 pm both nights. For more information or to purchase tickets visit voicesofthewindpeople.com.
