The Emporia High volleyball team defeated Junction City and lost to Washburn Rural Tuesday night.
The Lady Spartans won the match with Junction City 25-14 and 25-16.
Washburn Rural, ranked #1 in 6A and #10 in the nation, defeated Emporia High 25-15, 25-11.
Emporia High Coach Ping Wang said they were defeated by a very good team.
Rural also defeated Junction City in 2 sets, 25-11, 25-13.
The Lady Spartans will be back in action Saturday when they play in the Burlington Invitational.
The Northern Heights volleyball team swept Mission Valley Tuesday night.
They won the first match in 3 sets 20-25, 25-18, 25-8.
And won the 2nd match in 3 sets 25-20, 25-27, 25-19.
Northern Heights is scheduled to play in the Olpe Invitational Saturday.
