A long journey for several local residents will have a heartwarming culmination Monday.
The first class of the Radical Life Core Community program is set for its official “graduation” ceremony inside Life Church at 1801 Graphic Arts Road. Radical Life is an Emporia-based program dedicated to keeping children out of the foster care system by providing services and support to families struggling with poverty, addiction or instability to help keep their family whole.
Radical Life Director and coach Lindsay Smith says running the program is a “dream job” for her as she gets paid to provide others with love and support.
Radical Life consists of three-phase that see participants build a plan, strengthen areas of need and overcome any obstacles that may be in their way before graduating the program. Smith says the inaugural graduating class will consist of six single mothers.
The graduation is open to the public and will begin at 7 pm.
