Power has been restored to Evergy customers affected by a large scale outage late Saturday morning into the afternoon hours.
The outage was originally reported around 11:45 am with over 1,900 customers affected at the onset in northeast Emporia east past the city limits to Roads 175 and T. Evergy crews managed to restore power to all but 600 residents by 2:30 pm and had power fully restored around 3 pm.

Over 1,700 Evergy customers are offline due to a major power outage stretching from northeast Emporia past the city limits.
Details are pending, however, the outage was first reported just after 11:45 am. The outage is affecting customers in northeast Emporia and stretches east of town to just past the intersection of Road 175 and S.
Crews are currently working to restore power with an estimated restoration time currently pending.
