Emporia City Commissioners will have four meetings over the next three days.
Commissioners will first convene for a three-hour executive session Tuesday afternoon for non-elected personnel matters. Commissioners will be joined by Osenbaugh-Deardoff Consulting, the firm that has been secured to oversee the search for a new Emporia City Manager.
That meeting begins at 1:15 pm. No action is anticipated.
Commissioners will then reconvene for a four-hour executive session at 9:15 am Wednesday morning. The meeting will again be for non-elected personnel matters and commissioners will be joined again by Osenbaugh-Deardoff Consulting.

Following the executive session, commissioners will transition into their regularly scheduled action meeting where a plethora of items will come before the commission for potential approval. Among the agenda items will be a resolution to begin the formal process of creating a tax increment financing district for the Brownstone/Red Brick Investments 30-acre subdivision project which is poised to bring a new travel plaza to the Emporia community and could include an RV park, restaurants, hotels and a strip mall.
Commissioners will also consider approval of a City of Wichita resolution regarding intent to issue health care facility revenue bonds. Consideration of the 2021 compensation salary scale will also be on the agenda.
Several items regarding city code updates and infrastructure improvements will also be up for consideration. The meeting begins at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
Thursday, commissioners will meet with Lyon County Commissioners for the fourth joint quarterly meeting at the Lyon County Courthouse. An agenda has yet to be released.
