The Emporia State soccer team has moved up to number 3 in this week’s national Coaches Poll. The Lady Hornets are 11-0-1.
Grand Valley State is the top-ranked team. Columbus is ranked number 2.
From the MIAA Central Missouri is ranked 17th. Central Oklahoma is receiving votes.
The Lady Hornets are also the number 1 ranked team in the Central Region.
Bemidji State is 2nd, Central Missouri 3rd, Minnesota State-Mankato 4th, Central Oklahoma is 5th.
Emporia State plays at Central Oklahoma on Friday.
Emporia States Joanie Westcoat has been named the MIAA Soccer defensive player of the Week.
Westcoat scored the go-ahead goal and had an assist for the Lady Hornets in their 5-3 win over Northeastern State.
