What goes better than zombies and popcorn? Well if you’re asking the Emporia Police Department Benefit Association, nothing.
The EPBA will be hosting its annual Zombie Run 5K Saturday afternoon. Volunteers are still needed for makeup artists and zombies. If interested contact the EPBA via Facebook.
After you’ve got your exercise outrunning the undead, the EPBA is inviting you to grab your lawn chairs and blankets, get some snacks and join them for a Movie in the Park. The EPBA will be screening the Halloween favorite Hocus Pocus.
Emporia Police Deputy Chief Kevin Risley says Hocus Pocus is a seasonal classic that everyone seems to enjoy.
The Zombie Run will begin at 5:30 pm with the movie to follow around 7 pm. Concessions will be available while supplies last.
All activities will take place in Jones Park.
