The doors were wide open and the community came through them in droves for a special open house in downtown Emporia Saturday afternoon.
Residents came to 715 Commercial, the former Flint Hills Music location, which now houses two very popular businesses Trox Gallery and Gifts and Gravel City Roasters.
Trox came to its new home from the Emporia Main Street incubator space at 729 Commercial, owner Kaila Mock says the new location was just what she was hoping for. She says joining forces with Gravel City is something that has actually been a talking point since before Trox even came into existence.
Gravel City Roasters came from its former home at 608 Commercial. Owner Angie Baker says this is an opportunity she couldn’t wait to take advantage of.
The relocation of both businesses was announced earlier this year after local business owners Lucas and Amy Moody announced they had purchased the former Flint Hills Music building. In addition to housing both Gravel City and Trox on the ground level, the upstairs portion of the building will serve as office space for Emporia’s First Friday operations.
