The Emporia State soccer team bounced back from their 1st loss of the season with a 2-1 win over Newman Sunday.
Aislinn Hughes gave Emporia State the early lead with a goal in the 10th minute of play.
Makenzie Dimarco scored in the 59th minute of play to give the Lady Hornets a 2-0 lead. The goal was her 12th career game-winning goal, setting a new school record.
With the win, the Emporia State soccer team is 12-1-1. They are down to their final 4 matches of the regular season. They host Missouri Southern Friday and Central Missouri next Sunday.
