It is week 8 of the High School Football season. The final game of the regular season. Next week’s opponents will be based on district standings.
Emporia High hosts Manhattan.
Emporia High Coach Keaton Tuttle says this is a game to play for the Seniors.
Senior Aiden Lance says it will take a good effort both offensively and defensively.
Junior Parker Leeds, who has become one of the top receivers in the state, says they need to keep improving.
The Spartans are in 13th place in 5A East. Manhattan is tied for 2nd place in 6A West.
The kick-off is set for 7 pm at Welch Stadium.
The featured area game on Country 101.7 FM has Chase County hosting Oxford. Chase County is in 2nd place in 8-Man Division I District 2.
Oxford is in 4th place.
Chase County Coach Brody Vandegrift says they can’t take Oxford lightly.
A Chase County win gives them a home game next week.
The kick-off from Cottonwood Falls is set for 7 pm.
