The Emporia High girls cross country team earned a trip to State with a 3rd place finish at the Bishop Carroll regional Saturday.
Elizabeth Willhite led the Lady Spartans with a 7th place finish, Sofia Ruvalcaba finished in 8th place, Micah Sheffy-Harris finished in 11th place, Maryn True 17th place, and Avery Gutierrez 26th.
Two members of the Emporia High boys cross country team earned trips to State. Jonathan Laudie finished in 4th place and Daghyn True finished in 7th place. The Emporia High boys finished in 4th place.
The 5A State Cross Country meet will be held at Augusta.
The Northern Heights boys qualified as a team for the 2A State meet with a 1st place finish at regionals.
The Chase County girls also qualified as a team with a 3rd place finish at regionals.
Northern Heights Teagan Hines, Cooper Schroer of Chase County, Brayden Marcotte of Lyndon and Alfonso Rubio of Mission Valley also qualified for the 2A State meet.
Lebos Colin Whalen and Caleb Durst qualified for the 1A State meet. Lily Hudson of Madison and Josie Orear of Olpe will also run in the 1A State meet.
Burlingtons Marijane Huff and Council Groves Jordyn Picolet qualified for the 3A state meet.
