Trial is set to begin Monday in a Lyon County case involving accusations of sexual exploitation, arson and other counts.
Alex Alexander, 24, stands accused of sexual exploitation of a child connected to an alleged incident in early July 2020. The affidavit is sealed, but the legal complaint indicates the child was 17 at the time and Alexander tried to “engage in sexually explicit conduct with the intent to promote a performance.”
As part of the overall case, Alexander is accused of one count of witness intimidation relating to an alleged attempt to keep that person from offering information as the investigation continued. Alexander is also accused of one count of arson after allegedly damaging property where the teenager had an interest, as well as one count of aggravated battery, great bodily harm, with an alternate count of aggravated battery, physical contact.
Jury selection is set to begin Monday in Lyon County District Court.
