Emporia Police are looking for a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in northwest Emporia shortly after school let out.
The wreck was reported in the 2300 block of Industrial at around 3:30 pm. Officers on site say an SUV was pulling out of Walmart’s north entry and was broadsided by a southbound vehicle of currently unknown make and model. The SUV was in the process of turning north onto Industrial when it was hit. The SUV driver reported not seeing the other vehicle because it was obscured by a real estate for sale sign.
An adult and a pre-teenaged child in the SUV were taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment.
