The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees could approve a new venture in medical care as part of its meeting Wednesday.
Board members could approve a nearly $2.7 million purchase of a da Vinci robotic system. Board members have been discussing this step for several months as a way to enhance surgeries.
The potential da Vinci purchase is the biggest capital outlay item on the agenda, but there is one more purchase up for consideration. Board members could approve a low-temperature sterilization system and drying cabinet for nearly $150,000.
In other business, board members will get monthly updates on strategic planning, operations, quality and finances. The board will also discuss a draft version of the 2022 budget. At least two executive sessions are also planned.
The meeting starts at noon at the hospital.
