Part of Emporia’s West 12th Avenue was closed for most of the overnight hours after a noninjury crash early Wednesday.
Emporia Police responded to 12th between Rural and Neosho just before 12:30 am. Acting Supervisor Kenny Rodriguez says a teenaged driver was westbound on 12th and fell asleep at the wheel. She then went off 12th and hit a light pole.
Evergy made repairs and the street was reopened before 5:30 am.
