Several area highways will get resurfaced as part of an extensive project through the Kansas Department of Transportation beginning next week, but that process has been delayed a day.
On Wednesday, Nov. 3, Kansas Highway 195 will get resurfaced from the Kansas 31 junction to Harveyville’s southern city limit. On Thursday, Nov. 4, repaving work will affect US Highway 50 from Emporia’s eastern city limit to Interstate 35 as well as US Highway 75 from the Kansas 68 junction just south of Lyndon to the junction of US-75, K-31 and K-268 north of Lyndon.
The overall project was supposed to begin Friday but now actually begins Monday and continues through at least Nov. 8, weather permitting and mainly in northeast or east central Kansas. Bettis Asphalt & Construction of Topeka won the contract with a $43,000 bid.
