An Emporia man was convicted on some — but not all — of the charges against him in a case involving accusations of sexual exploitation, arson and aggravated battery.
A jury in Lyon County District Court convicted 24-year-old Alex Alexander of single counts of battery and arson, as well as one of three counts of domestic violence after reaching its verdict Thursday afternoon. The battery count was an alternate count to an aggravated battery charge.
Alexander was found not guilty of single counts of child sexual exploitation, aggravated victim intimidation, a second battery count and two domestic violence counts.
Alexander was accused of trying to engage a 17-year-old in sexually explicit conduct. He was also accused of damaging property where the teenager had an interest shortly after the initial incident.
Sentencing is Jan. 14.
