The Emporia High girls cross country team finished in 9th place at the 5A State meet Saturday.
Elizabeth Willhite led the way with a 10th place finish. Sofia Ruvalcaba finished in 42nd place, Micah Sheffy-Harris finished 49th, and Maryn True finished in 73rd place.
In the boys 5A race, Emporia Highs Jonathan Laudie finished in 30th place and Daghyn True finished in 77th place.
At the 2A state meet the Northern Heights finished in 11th led by Joshua Cooper-Hamlin who finished in 6th place.
Alfonso Rubio of Mission Valley finished in 2nd place and Brayden Marcotte finished in 14th place.
The Chase County girls finished in 12th place led by Grace Newland who finished in 72nd place.
Tegan Heins of Nothern Heights finished in 45th place.
At the 1A state meet, Lily Hudson of Madison finished in 32nd place and Josie Orear finished in 37th place.
Lebos Colin Whalen finished in 24th place and Caleb Durst finished in 27th place.
At the 3A meet Lakoddah Downs of Council Gove finished in 3rd place.
Jordan Picolet of Council Grove finished in 7th place. Marijane Huff of Burlington finished in 23rd place.
