With the holiday season now upon us, the Salvation Army of Emporia is gearing up for a full slate of charitable activities.
Activities will begin with the annual Red Kettle Campaign which officially begins on Nov. 20 with bell ringing. Salvation Army Lt. Mylie Hadden says if you would like to be a bell ringer they have plenty of spots available and they would love to have you on board.
Interested residents can sign up to be bell ringers by visiting Registertoring.com.
In addition to the Red Kettle Campaign, the Salvation Army has already begun accepting applications for Christmas Assistance. Residents needing that assistance can call the Salvation Army at 620-340-3093 and ask to speak with Rose now through Nov. 24.
As if that wasn’t enough, Hadden says the Salvation Army is also collecting names for the annual Angel Trees where residents can pull a name tag to adopt a family in need for the holidays.
