Flint Hills Technical College is among 15 percent of America’s community colleges eligible for the Aspen Prize.
Organized by the Aspen Institute and is funded by Ascendium and the Joyce Foundation, the $1 million Aspen Prize is designed to recognize colleges for their work in raising student success, especially for students of color and lower-income backgrounds.
Flint Hills Technical College President Caron Daugherty is understandably pleased to be in the first round of this competition. She says prize organizers track a lot of data to determine who wins.
The top 10 finalists should be announced by spring or summer 2022. Site visits to the finalists will follow, with the winner being announced in late spring 2023. Click here for more information.
