An Osage City woman suffered apparently minor injuries after a crash in northeast Lyon County early Sunday.
Lyon County Deputy Eric Williams sas the crash happened near the junction of US Highway 56 and Road Y, about a mile west of the Lyon-Osage County line, with deputies, Emporia-Lyon County EMS, Miller Fire and Reading Fire all responding around 2:45 am. The driver of the SUV involved, 32-year-old Jennifer Millsaps, was eastbound when she crossed the highway and hit a field entrance.
Millsaps had suspected minor injuries but declined any medical treatment and was actually found a short distance away by first responders. The Kansas Highway Patrol was in the process of sending its helicopter when she was found.
At this time, it’s unclear why Millsaps went across the highway.
