Student achievement, audits and construction will highlight the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education’s next regular meeting Wednesday.
The meeting will feature a report from Interim Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Judy Stanley and Associate Director of Assessment and Accountability Ryan Karjala on the Kansas State Assessment and recent results in English, science and math.
Separately, board members will discuss the fiscal 2021 audit conducted by Varney and Associates and they will consider a move to re-authorize half a mill of property tax levy for five years to benefit adult basic education, commonly called GED. They will also get the latest update on the nearly $80 million Building for the Future renovation and new construction project from representatives of McCownGordon Construction.
One executive session for student matters is currently planned.
The meeting is at 5:30 pm at Mary Herbert.
