Stormy conditions didn’t bring much in the way of severe weather Wednesday evening.
Severe thunderstorm watches were issued across the area through the early evening hours Wednesday afternoon, with a severe thunderstorm warning issued around 4:30 pm for portions of Greenwood County which expired shortly before 5 pm. Heavy rainfall began just before 4 pm and resulted in minor to moderate accumulation across the area.

Weather conditions improve Thursday for Veterans Day activities with temperatures in the upper 50’s and sunshine forecasted throughout the day.

Chances of severe weather still exist for portions of the KVOE listening area Wednesday evening.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued late Wednesday afternoon affecting a portion of Greenwood County, however, the warning was allowed to expire prior to 5 pm. Severe thunderstorm watches remain in place for Coffey and Osage counties until 8 pm with a separate watch in place for Greenwood County until 10 pm.
Lyon and Wabaunsee counties have been removed from the watch.
Storms could produce high winds and quarter-sized hail in addition to heavy rainfall totals.

The National Weather Service has placed East Central Greenwood County into a severe thunderstorm warning through 5 pm Wednesday. The main hazards are hail up to the size of quarters and high winds.
The warning comes on top of a severe thunderstorm watch that remains in place for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 8 pm Wednesday. A separate watch goes for Greenwood County until 10 pm.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties through 8 pm Wednesday. A separate advisory goes for Greenwood County until 10 pm.
Storms could produce high winds and large hail in addition to heavy rainfall totals.
