Memorial services have been announced for former Emporia business owner Paul DeBauge who passed away Friday at the age of 82.
DeBauge enlisted inthe US Navy after graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in mathematics and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas Law School in 1963. He served in the Navy as a Lieutenant before an honorable discharge in 1967.
DeBauge and his brother Larry took over ownership of the family business DeBauge Brothers Inc. in 1968 until selling the company back in 2007.
In addition to his work in the professional world, DeBauge also spent time on numerous boards and committees in the Emporia community including serving as the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce President; as well as a member of the St. Mary’s Hospital Board of Directors; the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas; and the Emporia State University School of Business Council of Advisors.
Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions can be made out to Camp Wood YMCA in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
