Evidence presentation will continue Tuesday in a Lyon County rape trial.
Trial began Monday for 36-year-old Matthew Allen Patterson. He’s accused of raping and fondling a 9-year-old child in late June and faces five counts, including one of rape, three of aggravated criminal sodomy and one of aggravated indecent liberties.
Meanwhile, a decision on trial dates for a second Lyon County rape case dating back to June will take place next year instead of this week.
Jordan Dorsey, 26, had a pretrial hearing Monday. Potential trial dates will now be discussed at a new pretrial hearing Jan. 10.
Dorsey is accused of 11 total counts in his case after a set of incidents that allegedly happened June 15. He’s facing three counts of rape as well as single counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, aggravated battery, theft, criminal threat and criminal trespass.
