Emporia fire is looking into the cause of a small leaf fire in Emporia early Sunday afternoon.
Emporia Firefighters responded to a call of a leaf fire at 1515 Center Street shortly before 12:30 pm. Once on scene, fire crews found a pile of leaves had caught fire in the back of the residence and spread to a pile of firewood.
Crews had the fire under control shortly after arriving and the flames only caused in minor damage to the siding of a nearby garage. No injuries were reported.
A cause has yet to be announced.
