Thanksgiving is directly ahead, but dates have now been announced for Emporia Public Schools’ annual Seasonal Celebration.
The two-day event will be held at White Auditorium on Dec. 8-9, returning to its normal format after the event was held virtually last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The program, which will feature instrumental and vocal performances from Emporia High and Emporia Middle School students, will start at 7 pm both nights with doors opening at 6 pm. Sign language interpreters will be at the program both nights and there will be a section reserved for the hearing impaired.
Admission is $3 at the door for school-age children and adults. Preschool children and younger will get in free.
As has been the case for years, there will be a dress rehearsal at noon Dec. 7. People can attend the dress rehearsal free of charge and can take flash photos during that event. Flash photography will not be allowed for the evening performances.
Thuis is the 86th annual Seasonal Celebration for USD 253.
