The #4 ranked Kansas Jayhawks outscored Iona 96-83 in the consolation championship game of the ESPN Events Invitational Sunday. The Jayhawks used a 12-0 run in the first half to break a 7-7 tie to take a 19-7 lead and never trailed the rest of the game. They led by 22 points in the first half and by as many as 23 in the 2nd half.
Kansas had 5 players score in double-figures led by Christian Braun with 18 points. Ochai Agbaji added 17 points, David McCormack finished with 13 points. Remy Martin scored 11 points and Mitch Lightfoot finished with 10 points.
The Jayhawks will play St. Johns Friday in the Big-12 – Big East Challenge in New York City.
