After a week’s worth of steady increases, Lyon County’s active coronavirus case total saw a significant drop Monday.
Lyon County Public Health reported a total of 35 new cases developed over the weekend causing the overall case total to increase to 5,942. However; the active case total dropped from 150 to 107 between reporting periods with 78 recoveries reported.
Of the 107 active cases, 23 are considered breakthroughs meaning infections in fully vaccinated individuals. To date, Public Health has identified 340 collective breakthrough cases.
Deaths were unchanged at 92, however, the number of deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment increased from four to five. Active hospitalizations decreased from three to two.
