The Emporia High boys swim and dive team competes in their first meet of the season Wednesday.
Coach Jamie Dawson says with so many new swimmers this is a meet to get their feet wet.
Senior Maximus Kelly returns after missing last season. He will be swimming in the 100 backstroke, 200 free, the medley relay, and 400 free relay.
They will be competing in the Topeka West Invitational.
