After a KVOE Mitten Tree was stolen last month, a local business is stepping up and helping out.
Browns Shoe Fit is donating items for the Flinthills Mall tree at NexTech Wireless, according to manager Aaron Otto on KVOE’s Morning Show this week.
The tree was stolen late last month with items attached. Suspect information has not been announced.
The tree, along with trees at six other locations across Emporia, is a collection point for winter clothing items to benefit people receiving services through SOS.
A new tree is out at the mall. Other locations include:
*Bluestem Farm & Ranch Supply – 2611 W. Hwy 50
*Graves Drugs – 609 Commercial
*Mel’s Tire – 915 Graham St.
*Emporia Public Library (compliments of Cargill, Inc.) – 110 E. 6th Ave
*Trox Gallery and Gifts and Gravel City Roasters – 715 Commercial
*Skin Studio – 710 Commercial
Mittens, gloves, scarves and coats are needed. The drive ends Dec. 8, with pickups Dec. 9. More information is online at KVOE.com.
