The second round of COVID-19 vaccinations for young children in Emporia begins Tuesday, and Lyon County Public Health is pleased with how the first round went last month.
Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says the first round of clinics went well.
Second-dose clinics for Emporia students begin Tuesday at Riverside Elementary, followed by Thursday at Walnut and Dec. 14 at Timmerman. Vaccinations at Riverside and Walnut will be from 4-7 pm, with vaccinations at Timmerman from 4-8 pm. Parents need to sign up their children for those clinics online at www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org.
Millbern also says Public Health is using more of a “family-style” clinic method with an upcoming event for north Lyon County residents. The date for that has not yet been announced. This follows clinics last month at Neosho Rapids Elementary and Olpe Schools that included primary, secondary and booster doses of Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson for anybody in those and nearby communities.
