An Emporia business is benefiting from a federal program to increase energy efficiency.
Bob’s Cash Saver, which owns Country Mart and Good’s Cash Saver, is receiving almost $43,000 to install energy-efficient freezers. The project could save over 260,000 kilowatt-hours of energy, or over eight percent of the company’s annual energy use.
The program provides guaranteed loans and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses. The money helps to fund projects involving renewable energy systems or energy efficiency improvements. Ag producers may also apply for new energy-efficient equipment as well as new system loans for production and processing ventures.
