Emporia City Commissioners will ponder potential utility rate increases as part of their upcoming study session agenda Wednesday morning.
The potential increases were proposed as part of the 2022 budget cycle as debt payments for two city funds, water and wastewater, will be increasing in the coming year. The proposed increases are $1 a month per meter and a 2 percent consumption increase within the water fund and a $2 a month per meter and 5 or 8 percent consumption increase for wastewater.
A proposal to clear up an alley dedication and property line issue at 305 18th Ave. will also see consideration. Commissioners will also receive a request for funds for American Jr. Golf Association tournaments, a proposal from KLM engineering for reconditioning services at the 12th Ave. elevated storage tank and a request for the purchase of equipment for the Public Works Department.
The meeting begins at 10 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
