Shopping gladness is the goal of Thursday’s Holiday Moonlight Madness event through Emporia Main Street.
Director Casey Woods says a lot is planned for Thursday evening.
Activities officially go from 5-10 pm, but several participating businesses will have deals all day Thursday. Over 20 businesses are involved.
Meanwhile, Main Street is busy with other holiday ventures. It has brought back two popular programs from last year, the Adopt a Newman Regional Healthcare Hero and Teacher and Staff Holiday Gifts Made Easy. Community Development Coordinator Jessica Buchholz explains the Healthcare Hero program.
People can also offer a special note of thanks to employees at Newman Regional Health. The deadline is Dec. 21. Click here for details.
For teachers and staffers, residents can buy gift certificates for employees across USD 253 Emporia, as well as Emporia Christian School, Lord’s Lambs Preschool and either Sacred Heart School or Sacred Heart Child Care. Personalized notes are also an option. The deadline is Dec. 16. Click here for details.
Also, Main Street has its annual holiday ornament sale underway, with this year’s ornament featuring the Kress Center. It’s also still seeking financial donations to close out its annual Care Packages for Our Troops drive.
