The possibility of extreme fire conditions Friday has led to a second county in the KVOE listening area being placed into a fire weather watch.
The National Weather Service has issued a watch for Chase County from 11 am to 9 pm Friday. This is on top of a watch for Greenwood County also from 11 am to 9 pm Friday.
Temperatures will be near 70 degrees, with gusty southwest winds around 30-40 mph and low humidity Friday. A similar story ses up for the middle to end of next week, with no rain in sight until possibly Wednesday — and currently, there’s only a slight chance.
