Emporia Main Street once again provided the local community with the perfect opportunity to check off some items from their Christmas lists Thursday evening.
The annual Moonlight Madness shopping event saw hundreds of local shoppers making their way through downtown Emporia to take advantage of great deals offered by more than 20 participating businesses. That includes Brown’s Shoe Fit Co. at 603 Commercial.
Manager Aaron Otto says he and his staff always look forward to extended opportunities to interact with the community and celebrate the holiday season.
Trox Gallery and Gifts was participating in its first Moonlight Madness since making a move from the Emporia Main Street Incubator Space to its new permanent home at 715 Commercial. Owner Kaila Mock says she is grateful for the extra space as she has seen a steady stream of business even before the special shopping event Thursday.
Aaron Apel of Gravel City Adventure and Supply says they often see a high level of traffic pass through their doors during the holiday season and this year has been no different. However; he says while the traffic hasn’t changed much, the list of most desired items this time of year certainly has.
Another local business that saw plenty of visitors Thursday evening was the Sweet Granada at 803 Commercial. Owner Kim Redeker says she and her staff are continuing to meet the high demand for their delectable offerings, despite some issues created by national supply chain disruptions.
If you missed the Moonlight Madness event, don’t fret because most Main Street businesses will continue to have holiday deals through the end of the calendar year.
