Emporia native Kelley Hunt brought the spirit of winter and plenty of soul to the Emporia Granada Theatre Friday night.
Hunt’s performance came as part of her sixth annual Winter Soulstice concert series featuring a selection of traditional holiday melodies with a classic blues feel.
Hunt rose to notoriety back in the early to mid-1990s and released her debut self-titled album in 1995. Since then, Hunt has released a total of six studio albums with her 2004 album New Shade of Blue peaking at number 9 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums Chart.
Hunt was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2006. Hunt will be back in concert next Sunday at the Cider Gallery in Lawrence.
