Two Topeka men have been arrested on suspicion of drug distribution after a traffic stop in Council Grove.
Police Chief Shawn Wangerin says the stop Friday night in the 400 block of East Main led to a probable cause search of the vehicle — which led to the arrest of Michael Fernandez and Enich Gillis on suspicion of possessing hallucinogenic drugs with intent to distribute and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Wangerin says the traffic stop also yielded “multiple pounds” of marijuana and several thousand dollars of suspected drug proceeds. Word on formal charges is currently pending.
Morris County deputies helped with the incident.
