USD 386 Madison-Virgil isn’t the only area school district dealing with illness matters as the winter break nears.
Waverly Elementary and Waverly Junior-Senior High will close Friday due to a combination of coronavirus and flu-like illnesses, according to Technology Director Doug Piper. The daycare will be open and classes at Lebo schools is currently unaffected.
Winter break begins this weekend for USD 243 Lebo-Waverly. It also begins this weekend for USD 386 Madison-Virgil, which will spend Friday in homebound learning after a recent increase in coronavirus cases in staff and students. The district started homebound learning Wednesday and postponed or canceled extracurricular activities as well.
